Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

Location: Las Vegas, NV – Remote not available

You will be working with the senior management team across multiple divisions geographically located around the country. Job Description:

As a bookkeeper or assistant controller, you will be crucial in managing our company’s financial transactions and records. Your meticulous attention to detail and expertise in accounting practices will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. This position requires experience working with public companies, outside accountants, and PCAOB auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations using QuickBooks. Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support financial reporting, including preparing and consolidating financial statements and conducting monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses.
  • Assist with budgeting and coordinating budget processes across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and public/private company reporting requirements.
  • Establish and manage internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Assist with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and help scale accounting operations as the company grows.
  • Working across divisions supporting operations.

Specific responsibilities: you will be doing the following:

    1. Bank Reconciliation:
      1. Weekly reconciliation of all bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
      2. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
    2. Transaction Recording:
      1. Accurately record every financial transaction in QuickBooks.
      2. Ensure all transactions are classified correctly (classes, tags, etc.) according to the company’s chart of accounts.
    3. Supporting Documents:
      1. Upload all supporting documents for every transaction into QuickBooks.
      2. Maintain a well-organized digital filing system for easy retrieval of documents.
    4. Corporate Records Management:
      1. Maintain all corporate records, including investor information and investor documents.
      2. Ensure all corporate records are up-to-date and comply with regulatory requirements.
    5. Monthly Close:
      1. Perform monthly closing procedures, confirming that every transaction is closed and supported by the necessary documentation.
      2. Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
    6. Public Company and Audit Compliance:
      1. Ensure all financial practices comply with public company standards and PCAOB auditor requirements.
      2. Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Supporting the Senior Team in multiple capacities
    1. Providing weekly reports to the CEO
    2. Managing cashflow (forecasted vs actual)
    3. Creating budgets for each division

Qualifications:

  • Expert in QuickBooks (online) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Docs and Sheets.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Experience working with PCAOB auditors and knowledge of public company financial regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills while multitasking across projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with public companies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with accounting software integration and process automation.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with ZohoCRM, Books and Inventory is helpful.
