INVENTORY PLANNER
Location: Remote
Department: Product & Inventory
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain
Classification: Full-Time | Mid-Level
Status: Remote | Flexible Hours
POSITION SUMMARY
GPO Plus is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Planner to join our growing team. This remote position is responsible for managing inventory levels through effective forecasting and purchasing strategies that ensure product availability, minimize excess stock, and support company sales and operational goals.
The Inventory Planner plays a key role in aligning supply with demand, collaborating with vendors, warehouse teams, and cross-functional partners to maintain accurate inventory records and drive purchasing accuracy. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for numbers, process optimization, and proactive problem-solving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Forecast product demand using historical data, sales trends, and market insights
- Place, track, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate product replenishment
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing stock movement, adjusting order quantities, and mitigating overstock or stockouts
- Monitor inventory performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve turns and reduce excess
- Collaborate with vendors on lead times, order confirmations, and delivery tracking
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to align inventory planning with operational capacity
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies through audits and system updates
- Prepare regular reports on inventory health, purchase order status, and forecast accuracy
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–3 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and inventory management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in vendor coordination
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
