Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Warehouse Clerk to join our team. The Warehouse Clerk will be responsible for various tasks related to the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods in our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
    • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
    • Inspect products for damage and discrepancies, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  2. Inventory Management:
    • Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Organize and store products in designated locations within the warehouse.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  3. Order Fulfillment:
    • Pick and pack orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
    • Prepare shipping documents and labels for outgoing shipments.
  4. Material Handling:
    • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
    • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers as needed.
  5. Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment:
    • Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and free of hazards.
    • Follow safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Communication:
    • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively regarding inventory levels and shipping schedules.
    • Provide support to other warehouse staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment; physical work is required.
  • May involve standing for long periods and lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
